St. Monica earns the York Region Public Health’s Healthy Schools Seal!

St. Monica CES, in consultation with York Region Public Health Department, has earned the Green Seal as a Healthy School certification! As a result of our efforts, we were granted a $500 monetary gift which supported the Coby the Magician – Bullying Awareness presentation. The 35 member team comprised of staff and students worked diligently, along with York Public Health Nurse Leilani to support various ways to support the Mental Health of our community. By incorporating activities that supported our Religious Education program such as, but not limited to, liturgical gatherings and  Sacramental preparation, Bullying Awareness education including a Youth Speak presentation for the intermediate students, Coby the Magician along with classroom agreements, promoting monthly Mental health themes through daily announcements by our Mental Health ambassadors, and increasing physical activities and student engagement in various clubs and committees, we were successful in developing ways to build and enhance respectful, compassionate relationships within our community. We are humbled by the collective efforts of the creative and generous leadership of all our staff who have offered to support all these initiatives, board resource team,  our parent/guardian community and our parish team! Thank you to all!
