Welcome back to another exciting school year at St. Monica! The annual Scholastic St. Monica Book Fair will take place at St. Monica Library Commons. For your shopping convenience, it runs from Monday September 18th to Thursday 21st. The Book Fair will also be open on Monday, Sept. 18th on Curriculum Night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All proceeds will help to fund library purchases and activities benefitting the entire school.
The benefits of reading have been well documented. Students who practice independent reading daily on a regular basis become confident readers. Research also shows that regular reading practice has positive effects on a student’s academic performance. By participating in the Book Fair, students are on their way to having access to and opportunity to choose what they want to read. If any parents wish to volunteer at the Book Fair, please contact Ms. So, St. Monica teacher-librarian.
